Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how MAEVE, AOIFE & NIAMH, operated by Santara Brands LLC ('we', 'us', 'our'), collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit or buy from our store. We act as the data controller and handle your data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Irish data protection law. Data we collect
- Identity & contact data: name, email address, delivery and billing address, phone number.
- Order & account data: your orders, order history, account login details and preferences.
- Payment data: processed securely by our payment providers; we do not store your full card details.
- Communications: the content of messages you send us (e.g. customer-support enquiries).
- Technical & usage data: IP address, device and browser type, and how you interact with our site, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
- Marketing data: your newsletter subscription and marketing preferences.
How we use your data and our legal bases
- To perform our contract with you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)): to process and deliver your orders, manage returns and refunds, and provide customer support.
- Our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): to operate, secure and improve our store, prevent fraud, and analyse site usage (via Google Analytics with IP anonymisation).
- Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): to send you marketing communications and to set non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)): to comply with accounting, tax and other legal requirements.
Who we share your data with
We share data only as needed with service providers acting on our behalf, including: Shopify (our e-commerce platform) and its payment processor (Stripe/Shopify Payments); Klaviyo (email/newsletter); Google (analytics and advertising); Meta (advertising); and our shipping and logistics partners, some of which are located in Asia and the United States. We do not sell your personal data. We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect our rights.
International transfers
Some of our providers are located outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where we transfer personal data outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or transfers to countries recognised as providing an adequate level of protection.
How long we keep your data
- Order and accounting records: kept for the period required by law (in Ireland, generally 6 years for tax/accounting records).
- Account data: kept while your account is active and deleted on request.
- Marketing data: kept until you unsubscribe, and in any case no longer than 3 years from your last contact with us.
- Technical/analytics data: kept for a limited period in line with our cookie settings.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to: access your data; have it corrected; have it erased; restrict or object to its processing; data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time (Articles 15–21). Automated decision-making
We do not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you based solely on automated processing.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
